Vinyl Floors

Decorating Tip - Do what makes sense. Select a floor covering suited to the activity in the area. A luxuriously thick, snow white carpet is probably not the best floor covering option for a kitchen where spills are likely to occur.

Premiere Carpets offers the Armstrong, Congoleum, Mannington, Stainmaster, K-Tech, and Tarkett brands of vinyl or resilient floor coverings. You may click on the logos below to see our resilient floor covering products.

There are two basic kinds of floor coverings that are typically associated with vinyl or resilient floor covering products - vinyl and Linoleum.

Vinyl - can be purchased in sheet and tile forms. In sheet (i.e., roll) form it may be obtained in widths up to twelve feet wide and offers a seamless or near seamless waterproof floor covering that is especially well suited to wet areas like bathrooms. In tile form vinyl is purchased and installed as squares that can be individually replaced if necessary. Vinyl floor coverings consist of durable synthetic materials and comprise a wear layer that protects the printed or inlaid color pattern. The bottommost element in vinyl floor coverings is the backing which lays against the floor. Different backings are made primarily to allow different installation procedures.

Linoleum - can be purchased in sheet and tile forms. While Linoleum, like vinyl, is a resilient floor covering, it is not technically a vinyl product in the material sense. Linoleum consists of natural materials rather than synthetic "vinyl" materials. The name Linoleum was taken from the Latin words for its two main constituents; "linum" (flax) and "oleum" (oil - linseed oil in particular).
